Home / Employment / CareerConnectors
CareerConnectors is a transformative program that supports new Australians in their journey towards employment success. By becoming a mentor, you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of migrants and refugees, helping them improve their employment potential and build powerful networks.
You will be able to share professional and personal skills as well as tips on navigating the job market and how to connect within your industry, to increase your mentee’s confidence and prospects of getting a job in Australia.
What does it take to become a mentor?
Being a mentor requires a blend of compassion, knowledge of your professional sector, and a genuine desire to guide and inspire others on their journey of growth and development.
CareerConnectors Mentors complete an initial induction session, including Cultural Capability Training delivered by Multicultural Australia and a facilitated introduction meeting with mentees.
Participants engage in six weekly, one-hour long mentoring sessions over the course of the eight-week program, as well as a final reunion and graduation.
Sessions can include exploring industries, discussing Resume and Cover letter development, interview preparation, job search strategies, networking strategies or topics relevant to the mentee to help them improve their employment potential.
Mentors are provided with a manual and Multicultural Australia can provide guidance to mentors on these topics.

We who have come from many places acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land which always was and always will be Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island land. We pay our respects to their Elders throughout all time. We walk together in solidarity of the pain of the past and the shared hope for the future.
